Transylvania is one of the well-known regions of Romania, situated in the north-western part of the country and being surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. It is the place where the story of the mythological character Dracula was born. The Transylvanian land is considered the most beautiful and unique part of Romania since is the greatest touristic attraction.
Among the most visited places in Transylvania are: Bran Castle (Dracula`s Castle), Hunyadi Castle from Hunedoara, Sarmisegetusa Ruins, Scărișoara Ice Cave, Turda Salt Mine, The City of Brașov with the Poiana Braşov ski resort, Târgu Mureș, Sighișoara (UNESCO World Heritage Sites) and the greatest medieval cities (Alba-Iulia, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu).
